Cupids Arrow

Not our first date, but, close enough.

In the year 2000, standing on the corner of Beverly Blvd and Poinsettia, waiting for the light to change, Lisa and I shared our first kiss. That moment started a 23-year relationship. Years later, hoping to relive some of the spark, I asked her, “what inspired you at that moment?” Lisa thought about it for a nano-second and responded, “the light was taking forever to change, so I thought I should do something.” It wasn’t my charm, it wasn’t my raw sex appeal, the impetus for our love was an overly lengthy traffic signal.

Cherubs don't always wear a diaper, sometimes they come dressed as a civil engineer who decides to place a crosswalk on the corner next to The Muse restaurant. Sometimes, romance needs a push...a warm cozy fire, or a shared piece of chocolate, maybe, an endless line of traffic streaming down a busy Los Angeles boulevard. This year, let’s honor all the forms of Cupid’s arrows.

Stay tuned & eat some chocolate,
