It finally happened. Lisa and I, at ages 66 and 55 respectively, became too hot. Unfortunately, not in the good way that garnered free drinks and invitations to dinner; we literally over-heated. At an outdoor event on Mother’s Day, Lisa and I stood at our booth, sweated through our shirts, and watched our free chocolate samples melt into puddles. Mid-sunburn, I realized two things…I’m too old to be standing in the noonday sun, and the summer heat has arrived. It’s the time of year for warm nights, pool parties, and a seasonal revision to our shipping policy. From now, until it's cool enough for me to wear a jacket in the afternoon, our shipping days are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. This will help prevent the chocolates from sitting over the weekend in a shipping facility that is not temperature-controlled. Everyone will still get their chocolate; it just might take a bit of extra time if you order on a Thursday or Friday. So, plan accordingly. Happy Summer and remember the advice that my brother recently gave to me, “Heather, you can't be naked when you're using our cold plunge.”
